Page 733 Ravidaas- Soohi Mahala 4- ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਚਮਾਰੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਇਕ ਗਾਇ ॥ Ravi Das, the leather-worker, praised the Lord, and sang the Kirtan of His Praises each and every instant. ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਪਏ ਪਗਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥ Although he was of low social status, he was exalted and elevated, and people of all four castes came and bowed at his feet. ||2|| Page 794 Fareed- Soohi Fareed ji- ਪਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ Without her Husband Lord, how can the soul-bride ever find peace? ਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ When He becomes merciful, then God unites us with Himself. ||2|| Page 1164 Naamdavy- Bhairao Naamdayv ji- ਹਸਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਹੁਰੇ ਆਇਆ ॥ Laughing and playing, I came to Your Temple, O Lord. ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਾਮਾ ਪਕਰਿ ਉਠਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ While Namdev was worshiping, he was grabbed and driven out. ||1|| ਹੀਨੜੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਦਿਮ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ I am of a low social class, O Lord; ਛੀਪੇ ਕੇ ਜਨਮਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ why was I born into a family of fabric dyers? ||1||Pause|| ਲੈ ਕਮਲੀ ਚਲਿਓ ਪਲਟਾਇ ॥ I picked up my blanket and went back, ਦੇਹੁਰੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਬੈਠਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ to sit behind the temple. ||2|| ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ॥ As Namdev uttered the Glorious Praises of the Lord, ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਕਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਫਿਰੈ ॥੩॥੬॥ the temple turned around to face the Lord’s humble devotee. ||3||6|| Page 1195 Ramanand- Basant Hindol Ramanand ji- ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ ਜੀ ਘਰੁ ੧ Ramanand Jee, First House: ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਕਤ ਜਾਈਐ ਰੇ ਘਰ ਲਾਗੋ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ Where should I go? My home is filled with bliss. ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਭਇਓ ਪੰਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ My consciousness does not go out wandering. My mind has become crippled. ||1||Pause|| ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨ ਭਈ ਉਮੰਗ ॥ One day, a desire welled up in my mind. ਘਸਿ ਚੰਦਨ ਚੋਆ ਬਹੁ ਸੁਗੰਧ ॥ I ground up sandalwood, along with several fragrant oils. ਪੂਜਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਠਾਇ ॥ I went to God’s place, and worshiped Him there. ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਤਾਇਓ ਗੁਰ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ That God showed me the Guru, within my own mind. ||1|| ਜਹਾ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਜਲ ਪਖਾਨ ॥ Wherever I go, I find water and stones. ਤੂ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਸਮਾਨ ॥ You are totally pervading and permeating in all. ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਭ ਦੇਖੇ ਜੋਇ ॥ I have searched through all the Vedas and the Puranas. ਊਹਾਂ ਤਉ ਜਾਈਐ ਜਉ ਈਹਾਂ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ I would go there, only if the Lord were not here. ||2|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤੋਰ ॥ I am a sacrifice to You, O my True Guru. ਜਿਨਿ ਸਕਲ ਬਿਕਲ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਾਟੇ ਮੋਰ ॥ You have cut through all my confusion and doubt. ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਮਤ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥ Ramanand’s Lord and Master is the All-pervading Lord God. ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਮ ॥੩॥੧॥ The Word of the Guru’s Shabad eradicates the karma of millions of past actions. ||3||1|| Page 1292 Naamdayv- Malar Naamdayv ji- ਮੋ ਕਉ ਤੂੰ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਤੂ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ॥ Please do not forget me; please do not forget me, ਤੂ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਮਈਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ please do not forget me, O Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਆਲਾਵੰਤੀ ਇਹੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਮੁਝ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਭ ਕੋਪਿਲਾ ॥ The temple priests have doubts about this, and everyone is furious with me. ਸੂਦੁ ਸੂਦੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਉਠਾਇਓ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉ ਬਾਪ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੧॥ Calling me low-caste and untouchable, they beat me and drove me out; what should I do now, O Beloved Father Lord? ||1|| ਮੂਏ ਹੂਏ ਜਉ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੇਹੁਗੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇਲਾ ॥ If You liberate me after I am dead, no one will know that I am liberated. ਏ ਪੰਡੀਆ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਢੇਢ ਕਹਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੈਜ ਪਿਛੰਉਡੀ ਹੋਇਲਾ ॥੨॥ These Pandits, these religious scholars, call me low-born; when they say this, they tarnish Your honor as well. ||2|| ਤੂ ਜੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈਂ ਅਤਿਭੁਜ ਭਇਓ ਅਪਾਰਲਾ ॥ You are called kind and compassionate; the power of Your Arm is absolutely unrivaled. ਫੇਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਕਉ ਪੰਡੀਅਨ ਕਉ ਪਿਛਵਾਰਲਾ ॥੩॥੨॥ The Lord turned the temple around to face Namdev; He turned His back on the Brahmins. ||3||2|| Page 1293 Ravidaas- Malar Ravidaas ji- ਜਾ ਕੈ ਈਦਿ ਬਕਰੀਦਿ ਕੁਲ ਗਊ ਰੇ ਬਧੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਾਨੀਅਹਿ ਸੇਖ ਸਹੀਦ ਪੀਰਾ ॥ And he whose family used to kill cows at the festivals of Eid and Bakareed, who worshiped Shayks, martyrs and spiritual teachers, ਜਾ ਕੈ ਬਾਪ ਵੈਸੀ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਤ ਐਸੀ ਸਰੀ ਤਿਹੂ ਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਸਿਧ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੨॥ whose father used to do such things - his son Kabir became so successful that he is now famous throughout the three worlds. ||2|| ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਟ ਬਾਂਢਲਾ ਢੋਰ ਢੋਵੰਤਾ ਨਿਤਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸੀ ਆਸ ਪਾਸਾ ॥ It is my occupation to prepare and cut leather; each day, I carry the carcasses out of the city. ਅਬ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਤਿਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਡੰਡਉਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਰਣਾਇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸਾ ॥੩॥੧॥ Now, the important Brahmins of the city bow down before me; Ravi Das, Your slave, seeks the Sanctuary of Your Name. ||3||1|| Page 1384 Fareed- Salok Fareed ji- ਕਵਣੁ ਸੁ ਅਖਰੁ ਕਵਣੁ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਵਣੁ ਸੁ ਮਣੀਆ ਮੰਤੁ ॥ What is that word, what is that virtue, and what is that magic mantra? ਕਵਣੁ ਸੁ ਵੇਸੋ ਹਉ ਕਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਵਸਿ ਆਵੈ ਕੰਤੁ ॥੧੨੬॥ What are those clothes, which I can wear to captivate my Husband Lord? ||126|| ਨਿਵਣੁ ਸੁ ਅਖਰੁ ਖਵਣੁ ਗੁਣੁ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਮਣੀਆ ਮੰਤੁ ॥ Humility is the word, forgiveness is the virtue, and sweet speech is the magic mantra. ਏ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਭੈਣੇ ਵੇਸ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਂ ਵਸਿ ਆਵੀ ਕੰਤੁ ॥੧੨੭॥ Wear these three robes, O sister, and you will captivate your Husband Lord. ||127||
